After watching Blue Tits, Great Tits and House Sparrow nests over the years, a Coal Tit nest is certainly showing differences in what happens. I have not yet seen the male feed the female in the nest box, however I have heard him calling close by. I hope if and […]
Bird in the Nest Admin
Visitors that have followed my website over the years may recall that for the last 5+ years I have either had no nests built or nests abandoned. 2024 was looking like it was going to be another year of no nests, until I decided to take one more look at […]
I was hoping things would change, but sadly the male and female House Sparrow abandoned their nest (in Box 3) on 10th April 2021. After this, there was a number of visits made to Box 1 by the pair. They did bring in some bits of material but gave up […]

A new year. Our roosting Blue Tit is still with us. It first arrived in November 2005, and has roosted in oneof our bird boxes ever since. There has not been much other activity.
With the increased amount of activity yesterday, I was hoping the House Sparrows had not been put off. Apart from one brief visit to the entrance hole, of Box 3, by the male House Sparrow no other activity was recorded today. I am hoping the Great Tit has not forced […]
