Welcome to the Bird in the Nest website
Welcome to Bird in the Nest for 2024!
For many years I always had a Blue Tit nest to report on, but sadly for the last 5+ years I have either seen nests not completed, Great Tits take over and not be successful and even a House Sparrow nest fail in 2021. For the 2022 and 2023 season none of my three boxes were used.
I was giving up hope this year (2024) when I decided to just check the boxes one more time. On 12th April 2024, I was shocked to see a Coal Tit inside Box Number 3 and possibly already two eggs laid. This is the first time I have ever seen a Coal Tit use one of my boxes, since I started back in 2005. Here is hoping for some success this year!
This website allows you to follow the unfolding story. The diary pages document all the highs & lows through out the season.
I have cameras located inside and outside the boxes, monitoring the birds.
To browse my website please use the menu, located on the left.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy your visit.
