They do occur in other habitats, including gardens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Coal Tits are known to nest earlier than the Blue Tits &amp; Great Tits and normally nest in holes in trees.  They can use a nest box, but normally loose out to the larger birds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The latin name for a Coal Tit is Periparus ater.
