Box 1
Over the last few days the female, in box 1, has been bringing in more moss and the box floor is slowly beginning to be covered in a layer of moss:

Nest wiggles |
|
Everytime the female brought in more moss, she performs an number of nesting wiggles to organise the materail to where she wants. At times she even buried herself!
Each year we normally see the female spend some time attacking the LED's, located in the false roof. So far they have survived all this time in once peace. It can be scary when you are the one being watched!

Box 3
The number of visits to box 3 has dramatically increased and an impress 82 visits were made during the day. Looking through all the images no more nesting material was brought in. Many of the visits, again, involved the usual swapover:

Hello again |
|
Is this a nice box to nest in? |
|
During the afternoon we became a little conserned. A Bumble Bee entered the box and sat at the entrance hole. We always seem to have an issue with Bee's and our boxes. Luck must have been on our side and the Bee soon departed. The Bee did not stop the pair returning.

Gone - Phew! |

The weather is now meant to turn colder again. Will this slow down nesting in box 1 and will we see a nest in box 3?
More in our next diary update, on 31st March.
