More testing and problems

All the chicks made it through their first two nights on their own. Both Adam and Eve returned around 5am this morning and continued to feed the chicks, although the number of feeds dropped. I wondered if their were trying to tempt the chicks out?

I normally use another DVD recorder to record the outside camera with. Normally this is OK and I am at home when fledging takes place. This year I was concerned that the chicks would fledged whilst I was at work and I would miss it, as I can only record six hours onto a disc. I decided on 20th May to purchase another DVD Hard Drive Recorder so I could record from the outside camera for longer. I managed to purchase a half price recorder with a 400GB hard drive in it. Whilst setting up the new unit I discovered that it had a fault :( and tonight I had to go back and get another one. I found a 250GB one and purchashed that. Thankfully that one worked and the chicks had not fledged!

I have also been archiving all the footage for this year and so far I have around 120GB of video to go through and sort. I will leave that until after the chicks fledge.

More in our next diary update.
