Part 1 of 2

Today I was planning to record from boxes 1 & 3 to see if we have two pairs of Blue Tits or one.

Whilst setting up the DVD recorders timers I saw a bird fly to box 1 at 6:50am. It spent a few seconds checking and clinging onto the outside camera before entering the box. Sadly as I was setting up the timer I could not record the visit and by the time I managed to get the timer off the bird had gone. Still I did mange to see through the window that it was a Blue Tit and I heared it calling. Is it a another male or potential pair and is there the smallest chance this box is also claimed and will be used?

After all this unfortunately technology has let me down this morning and one of my DVD recorders seems to have failed. It will not record or wipe any re-writable media for some unknown reason. Due to running out of time, before leaving for work, I have not had the time this morning to try and repair the issue and I have decided to record from box 3 today and box 1 on Tuesday instead now.

Will we see the first bits of nesting material appear today in box 3?

Part 2

Firstly sorry for the delay in the diary update I got back later than I thought I would.

I have now managed to finally go through the recording and sadly no visits were made to box 3 today. Looking inside box 1 there appears to have been some visits.

So I have now decided to try and repair the DVD recorder and record from boxes 1 & 3 on Tuesday.
