Eight chicks OK

In my last diary entry I mentioned that Eve was seen twice roosting outside of the nestcup, leaving the chicks uncovered.

I checked the nest early this morning and thankfully all eight chicks were still alive, with both Adam & Eve feeding them.

As there seems to be enough natural food coming in at the moment, I have decided to leave the mealworm feeders alone until the weekend.

Just a quick photo to show you the chicks development as of 7am today. Some of the chicks now have their tails beginning to grow and one chick even has the signs of yellow wing feathers breaking through. They are growing so quickly.
