7th April 2009

Eve comes back and lots of moss!

Part 1 of 2

I have some good news to report. Eve has been seen returning to the nestbox and has been bringing in lots more moss. Hopefully now nesting will continue and no bees or wasps will visit or stay :)

I will be back later tonight with a further diary update, once I have gone through the video.

With all the calling on Sunday I wonder if the male has been feeding his partner in the box and that if Eve will roost in her box for the first time tonight?

More around 20:30

Part 2 of 2

An impress thirty visits were recorded today with Eve bringing in nest materail on most of these visits. No feeding inside the box was observerd but Adam (the male) visited the front of the box some twenty times. He seems to be a devoted partner and should be a great dad.

With all the activity today I wondered if Eve would roost in her box tonight. It seems I guessed correctly and tonight for the first time Eve is roosting! As I type this though she seems very restless and keeps cleaning her feathers. Are there mites or fleas in the moss? Hopefully she will settle down. It's making me feel itchy just typing this diary entry :|

Below are some of the photos captured today
