Firstly we would like to wish all our members a very Happy New Year!

During November and December 2008 we have been busy re-designing this website and testing everything works for the 2009 season. We are happy to say everything went to plan.

During the last few weeks of 2008 we saw very few visits to Boxes 1 & 2 with only our normal winter rooster returning each night. Today was different with a male Blue Tit (possibly Bluey from the past two seasons) trying his best to show his new mate the potential home for this season. He had sadly no success but tried over ten times in just five minutes.

It's always the way with technology. We had tested the new PC setup so many times but for some reason the PC decided that the hard drive, that we store all captured images on, no longer exsitied inside it. The drive was fine but the PC is not happy and seems to drop it sometimes. We will be keeping an eye on this issue incase it comes back.

Back to our boxes. Our new box (box 3) saw many visits including a pair of Blue Tits that spent a lot of time inspecting the box. With so many visits will we have a nest in this box? Too early to say yes yet but it is looking promising. On one of the visits the curious Blue Tit decided to try a new way of checking out the box. So will we see a pair visit any of our boxes? More in our next diary update.
