Last night I returned home to see around five Blue Tits flying around the nearby Cherry Tree. I turned on the cameras and checked in each box. No visits were seen or recorded whislt I watched. I then turned off the cameras thinking there was no chance of any visit or a rooster.
Later in the evening I was testing that everything was working correctly on my PC, after I installed some new software, and I tested the bird boxes camera system. I was shocked to find a Blue Tit roosting inside box 1. I could not tell if this was the male or a new Blue Tit as Blue Tits look all the same.
So at last we have a rooster. Hopefully it will return each night, claiming its right to the box.
This morning (26th September 2008) we recorded and watched the bird leave the box. We will be watching tonight, in the hope it returns. Looking at the images recorded it looks very like "Bluey" the male from this years brood. Has he returned?
