In our last diary update we mentioned that we thought our female Blue Tit had laid her first eggs. Sadly no.
The female has still been visiting bringing in even more soft/fine nesting material, and making the nest cup. Yesterday evening the female was making the nest cup deeper and we thought she may lay her first egg today. On checking the nest at 06:40 this morning no egg had been laid.
The male has been seen feeding the female in a nearby tree, but no feeding has taken place in the nest box yet. We still have the female roosting in Box 1 and the male roosting in box 2.
