In Spring 2008 we had another pair of Blue Tits use one of our bird boxes. The pair successfully managed to build a nest and a total of ten eggs were laid.
Nine eggs successfully hatched but sadly the female was lost to a predator just before the chicks fledged. It was not all sad and the male managed to get six chicks through on his own with four chicks managing to leave the nest.
On 25th September we had our first rooster of the autumn, and the bird returned each night. This website allows you to read the unfolding story. The diary pages document all the highs & lows through out the season.
We had cameras located inside and outside the boxes, monitoring the birds.
