April 2006 Diary

3rd April

The weather has been warm, with some nice Spring sunshine, but it has been windy for most of the time. Over the weekend (1st & 2nd April) the cameras were all switched on to catch any action.

Sadly the internal cameras recorded nothing, apart from when the male returned to roost. The outside camera only recorded the sun going in and out on the boxes. No female was recorded visiting.

Both boxes are still messy, with no signs of any nesting materials being brought in.

Is our resident Blue Tit just using our box as a roosting pad? or will the female come back and start nest building?

Is the female building somewhere else? It is getting late, but so was Spring! so there may still be a chance.

The bird table is still busy, with Blackbirds, Blue Tit's, Sparrows, Stralings, Doves & a Great Tit visiting daily.
